FoAM in Brussels holds regular gatherings for collaborators and researchers in residence to present and discuss their work in progress, in an informal setting. The gatherings are also open to researchers who are not involved with FoAM, but are working in similar fields. The presentations tend to be short and visual, allowing enough time for questions and conversations. Some researchers opt for demonstrations, or take the opportunity to test prototypes and collect comments from their peers, others moderate a discussion on their topic of interest, or include the participants in a performative rehearsal or experiment. The most important part of the gatherings are the conversations and the feedback, that can inform the next steps in the research process.
