RADIO-MUS-E – Lunch with Insects
Two school classes visit FoAM to broadcast their radio programme and investigate edible insects. In RADIOMUS-E children in elementary school develop and produce a radio transmission based on the Flemish classic “Erik of het klein insektenboek” by Godfried Bomans. Following two months of work with Elias Vervecken (bruitage) and Rebecca Lenaerts (theatre, radiostories), two classes from two Brussels schools (De Wimpel, Elsene and St-Joris) get a chance to meet each other on the 1 March at FoAM. The children will continue their work on insects and include the aspect of taste: a lunch with insects will be prepared. The menu features caterpillar soup, cochenille-red potato puree and a honey dessert. The experiment will be concluded with a live radio transmission between 14.00 and 15.00.
RADIOMUS-E is a project of MUS-E Belgium, a bilingual institution organising Art-in-School projects. Artists from various disciplines are invited to work in a school class with children and their teacher to initiate an artistic process.
