DesignMarch 2013: "Magick, Mistakes and the Multitude of the Matter"

DesignMarch 2013 opens with a day of inspiring talks by internationally renowned designers and local design thinkers. From where does the magic of creativity originate? How can we better connect body and spirit? How does magic translate to different contexts? What restricts magic, what compels it? Come, feel the magic! The talks are hosted by Hrund Gunnsteinsdóttir, a dreamer, development and conflict specialist.

About Speakers : Maja Kuzmanovic is the founder of FoAM, where she leads a multidisciplinary team of scientists, artists, chefs, gardeners, designers and more. Kuzmanovic was named one of the Top 100 Young Innovators (1999) and a Young Global Leader (2006) by the World Economic Forum and MIT Technology Review. Nik Gaffney is a founding member of FoAM and will perform with Maja. Nik prefers bottom-up design; randomness as a strategy, and depth where required; dynamic to static; realtime rather than recorded; and complexity over the complicated. Nik is part of the pan-European collaboration Partially Luminous.

Um Fyrirlesara: Maja Kuzmanovic er stofnandi FoAM, þar sem hún leiðir metnaðarfullan hóp þverfaglegs teymis m.a. hönnuða, listamanna, kokka, garðyrkjumanna og vísindamanna. Maju er erfitt að skilgreina en FoAM hefur meðal annars að leiðarljósi að rækta menninguna til að næra samfélag framtíðarinnar.
