Food and Sustainability

FoAM in Brussels is designed and facilitated an “open sauces”-style lunch conversation on the future of food for the Sustainability Days of the Flemish government’s Department of Environment, Energy and Nature. While savouring three thematically-paired courses, practitioners and policy makers discussed issues related to food wastage, food and health, and speculated on possible cultural and behavioural changes. Christina Stadlbauer, Maja Kuzmanovic and Rasa Alksnyte are facilitated the conversations, as well as co-creating a vegetarian menu in collaboration with Annabel Meuleman of Picnic.

Foodprints collaboration with the Stockholm Resilience Centre
FoAM Nordica continues the work on Foodprints, encouraged by the collaboration proposal of the Stockholm Resilience Centre. We are planning to work together on a food-related exhibition at the Kulturhuset in Stockholm in the spring of 2012. Foodprints also aims to have an informal trial run of the toolkit in late October for the purpose of gathering local colleagues to test the kit and open a dialogue around the five scenarios chosen for the “foodprints meal” planned in 2012.
