Services and Resources

FoAM in Brussels offers a range of personal and professional development resources to generalists of all ages in support of our growing community. We share our infrastructure, networks, knowledge and experience to help people find meaningful paths through the maelstrom of work and life, inspiration and frustration, individual and collective existence.

Our tailor-made services include coaching, workshops, apprenticeships, residencies and advice/mentoring. Coaching takes place in 4–6 private sessions with an executive coach, while workshops are designed to be skill-building exercises for groups and include participatory training, retreats, and hands-on tutorials. Apprenticeships encourage practice-based learning through transdiciplinary internships. Our residency programme aims to provide generalists and their families with the time and space to reflect and work on projects related to FoAM's broad fields of interest and expertise. Finally, the advice centre is a place not only to ask straightforward technical questions but also to find long-term mentoring support for specific projects.

You can also rent our space and facilities for third-party workshops, meetings and events. Artists and researchers can have free access to our on-site library – a quiet reading sanctuary packed with books, media and materials ranging from eco-design to mysticism, programming to food systems, art catalogues and scientific journals to children's books and sci-fi stories. As a more distributed knowledge sharing service, we archive our research, project documentation and unstructured explorations on the Libarynth.
