Semiotics of the Kitchen Radio

Started: Nov. 15, 2008, 3 p.m.
Ended: Nov. 15, 2008, 6 p.m.

Description

Taking Martha Rosler’s classic performative alphabet Semiotics of the Kitchen as a point of departure, Constant’s design collective Open Source Publishing (OSP) presents a live radio broadcast from the FoAM kitchen. Experimenting with the displacement of multisensory experiences, they reflect on the preparation and distribution of food as metaphor, structure, vocabulary and rhythm. Featuring an interview with artist Kate Rich about cooking and trade, a Comédie de moeurs, a conversation with Nicolas Malevé about Cake PHP frameworks and other recipes, a report on Colruyt computer systems, The Swedish Cook, a text-to-speech cookbook, instructions for producing a manual, a foley artist and of course a mouthwatering playlist.
