This is a fieldwork session at the Kilpisjarvi Biological Research Station in the Finnish polar region with a transdisciplinary team that is part of FoAM's Random Forests programme. The team consists of people with a landscape practice that is rooted in in-situ experimentation and prototyping. During the residency they will explore the role of AI in artistic and scientific fieldwork. Can AI function as an intermediate in environmental investigation? As a mercurial companion, an interspecies informant, an environmental messenger, a climatic guide, ghost or even mentor? More details on the project website.

This Randomforests session is a collaboration with the Finnish Bioart Society who host the Ars Bioarctica programme.
